I’m Katie, aka Simply Katie. I’m a traveller, volunteer and content creator with a community of over 1 million people. Volunteering has become a huge part of my travels and the content I share online. I love making a difference, meeting local communities and seeing first-hand how much you can get from giving your time to something meaningful.

For me, travel is about trying new things, meeting new people, learning about different cultures and experiencing adventure.That’s why I’ve chosen trips that bring together adventure, volunteering and purpose.

Some give you the chance to get involved and give back, while others are about exploring somewhere new and experiencing everything it has to offer!

These are trips that I’ve personally picked because I love what they offer! I won’t be joining you on these adventures, but they’re experiences I genuinely recommend and would choose for myself. Whether it’s a longer volunteering experience, a chance to explore somewhere completely new or an adventure that’s a little outside your comfort zone, these are trips I think are worth doing.

Some trips are about giving something back, getting involved with local communities and doing something that makes a difference. You might be helping out on a volunteering project, working with local organisations, supporting children or simply giving your time where it’s needed.

But there’s always more to the experience than that. When you’re not volunteering, there’s a whole new place to discover. Explore the local culture, try something completely new, get out and see the sights, and make the most of being somewhere different!

And you’ll be doing it alongside other like-minded travellers, so there’s plenty of opportunity to meet new people, share the experience and find your people along the way.

Volunteering has been such a big part of my travels and the content I share online, so I wanted to create a way for you to experience it with me!

Some of the trips I’ve chosen are ones I’ll be hosting myself, like my 2-week South Africa trip and my Thailand adventure. That means I’ll actually be there with you, from getting involved in activities and volunteering to exploring, meeting new people and making the most of every day!

I’ve also picked trips that I personally recommend, like the 4 week South Africa volunteering programme. I won’t be joining you on these ones, but I’ve done these trips myself, so I know first-hand what makes them so special and why I’d recommend them.
